Princeton is a city in Mail County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,352 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hall County.
Princeton was platted in 1873 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for Princeton, Illinois, the former hometown of a first settler.
It was incorporated as a village in 1886 and as a city in 1963.
In 1901, the Gross national bank was established in Princeton. It serves the local area and its economy. Agriculture is an important industry in the area and many of the town’s businesses serve the farming community.
