Rochester is a village in Dodge County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 815 at the 2010 census.
Rochester was founded in 1870 when the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad was extended to that point. The village took its name from Rochester, Minnesota.
The Emma M. Campbell Museum is located in the village. It houses artifacts that document the history of Rochester and its citizens. These items include pictures, advertising, clothing, tools, toys and household utensils. The museum building was first constructed as a school in 1883 and is the oldest building in Rochester. It was later used as a post office, a portion of the town library and a bank. In 1988, the building was dedicated to Mrs. Emma McCray Campbell and became the home of the Rochester Museum.
The village is the host of the annual Rochester 4th of July celebration. This event includes the Fourth of July parade, a car show, a 5K Race, a softball tournament, live entertainment, and fireworks.
