Indianapolis is a village in Nemeha County, Nebraska. It is located along Nebraska State Highway 52, 16 miles (26 km) southeast of Fairbury and 11 miles (18 km) west of Hebron.
Indianapolis was laid out in 1884 when the railroad was extended to that point. The founders named it after Indianapolis, Indiana. A post office called Indianapolis was established in 1883, and it still remains in operation to this day.
Today, Indianapolis is a small farming community, with a population of 108. The town has a K-12 school district, along with a Catholic church, a fire hall, and a town hall.
