Danville is a small city situated in Valley County, Nebraska in the United States. It is approximately 75 miles north of Grand Island, Nebraska, and about 100 miles north of Omaha. The population of Danville was 269 as of the 2010 census. Danville was incorporated in 1887, when the Central Pacific Railroad Company chose a location here for a station. The town was named for Thomas Danforth, a railroad director.
