Covington is a village located in Antelope County, Nebraska, United States. It is the county seat of Antelope County. The population was 313 at the 2010 census.
The town was established in 1875 and named for Lansing Covington, the original town platter. By the turn of the century, Covington had become a prosperous small town with five churches, one hotel, three grain elevators, several stores and saloons, and an opera house.
The town has a long history in agriculture, with many families raising livestock, corn, and soybeans. In recent years Covington has seen some economic growth. In 2015, the village was granted the rights to host a proposed wind farm, allowing for additional economic avenues such as property taxes and jobs.
