Clinton is a city in Wilber Township, Saline County, Nebraska, United States. It is southwest of the city of Lincoln and is part of the Lincoln, Nebraska Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 899 at the 2010 census.
The city dates back to 1882 when founder Elisha Clinton platted a townsite of the same name. It has since developed into a small rural farming community. The city has one school, Clinton Middle/High School, located on the east edge of town.
