Ferdinand is a village in South Dakota County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 233 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Omaha, Nebraska Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Ferdinand was laid out in 1883 when the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, which was running from Omaha to Sioux City, was extended to that point. It was named for Ferdinand Bristol, a railroad official. A post office was established at Ferdinand in 1883 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1966. Ferdinand was incorporated as a village in 1895.
