The town was named for a prominent local family, the Pierces. A post office at Pierce was established in 1887. Pierce was platted in 1887, and incorporated in 1906. Today, Pierce is home to a community of close-knit citizens who are very involved in the community. The city hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year for the entire community to enjoy. Pierce has over 20 businesses and services to meet the needs of the local community.
