The situation you are describing - relationship with a US resident, long visit followed by recent denial of entry, no current job / agency work in the UK, rented accommodation - unfortunately makes it pretty likely that you will not get a visa to visit the US any time soon. If your girlfriend can afford the trip, she can come visit you instead.
