How can I ask for a UK 2-year visa for a 6-month visit?

When you apply for the UK Standard Visit Visa, either online or in paper form, you will be asked for how long you want your visa to be valid (6 months, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years). This visa replaced what was referred to as the Family Visitor Visa (among others).
You would be charged the corresponding fee:
- Standard Visitor visa: £93
- Long-term Standard Visitor visa: 2 years £350; 5 years £636; 10 years £798
