Harvest is a small town located in Madison County, Alabama. The population was 2,270 at the 2010 census. It was incorporated in 2002, and is located halfway between the cities of Elmore and Madison.
The city’s name is derived from the Harvest-Moselle area, which was named for a large farm owned by the family of Phillips Middleton on which a village was established several years before the Civil War. It was part of a migration of settlers from the North Alabama hill area that had moved into the area during this period.
The city has experienced some growth recently with several new subdivisions being constructed, and is close to the city of Huntsville and its many amenities. The city is home to the Harvest-Monrovia library, a volunteer-run library located in a historic building that was built in the 1930s. The city is also home to the Harvest Elementary School.
