The city of Scottsboro, AL is located in Jackson County and was founded in 1870. It is the county seat of Jackson County and is a part of the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. The city is situated along the Tennessee River and has a population of around 15,000 people. The city was named after a riverboat captain, Robert T. Scott.
