Rockhampton is a city located in Queensland, Australia, on the Fitzroy River, approximately 600 km (370 mi) northwest of the state capital, Brisbane. It is the fourth-largest city in the state, with an estimated urban population of 79,244. As of April 2021, Rockhampton is the sixth-most populous city in Queensland.

The city was first explored by James Charles Burnett, a surveyor and pastoralist, in 1853, and it officially became a city in 1858.
